Sermon 24 Jun 2018  (ICCEC Foundation Day)

Are you hungry? by Fr. Dana

Simple Summary:  Ezekiel’s prophesying did not make the dry bones live, God did.  We have been dry bones.  Will we listen?  Will we respond?  Jesus didn’t do many works in His hometown because of their unbelief.  What about us – is Jesus the problem, or are we?

Lectionary: Ezekiel 37:1-14; Psalm 19:1-14; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21; Mark 16:15-20

Referenced Scriptures:  Matthew 13:1-58; Matthew 5:6; Matthew 23:37

Sermon 23 Jun 2018  (celebrating Robbie & Marivic England’s 3 years of marriage)

Marriage is not easy by Fr. Dana

Simple Summary:  Nothing in creation but a woman could be a suitable helpmate for man.  No two people are the same.  Marriage is God’s fusion of two people into one.

Lectionary: Genesis 2:7-9, 18-24; Psalm 128; 1 Corinthians 12:4-12; Matthew 19:1-6

Sermon 17 Jun 2018

To be a father … by Fr. Dana

Simple Summary:  To be a father, you must first be a husband.  You must be a shepherd to your flock (your family).  You must lay down your life for your sheep.

Sermon 10 Jun 2018

Ordinary time by Fr. Dana

Simple Summary:  Satan was humiliated by God because of mankind.  He hates us, and he comes to us in the unchanging sameness of “ordinary time” to convince us nothing is happening.  God comes to us as well, opening new doors of faith and ministry, but we must choose to walk through the doorway and then actually get up and do it!

Lectionary: Genesis 3:8-15; Psalm 130:1-8; 2 Corinthians 4:13-18; Mark 3:20-30

Referenced Scriptures:  Hebrews 11:6; Revelation 3:20-21

Sermon 03 Jun 2018  (Corpus Christi)

Strengthening the Body of Christ by Fr. Dana

Simple Summary:  We are part of the living, breathing, growing Body of Christ on earth.  With greater importance comes greater responsibility.  When Jesus calls, we must respond not only with our lips but with our actions and our priorities.  Before appointing comes anointing; before anointing comes commitment; and commitment comes from a heart full of gratitude to God for all He has done for us and in us.

Lectionary: Exodus 25:21-30; Psalm 111; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30; John 6:54-63

Referenced Scriptures:  Ephesians 4:11-13a; Matthew 4:18-22; Luke 9:59-60; Matthew 26:35
